This is my first self-promotional poster which I have crafted, with this poster I didn’t use much text as I wanted to present myself through visual illustration. I have linked this poster with my passion for graphic design, which I have done through an illustration of myself sat behind my desk in my room creating graphics in photoshop. To clearly indicate this, I have included a screenshot of one of my photoshop projects and implemented it with the illustration of my laptop. I have made a 3D themed illustration however, to make this design unique and visually effective I’ve implemented an idea of space and planet earth being the view from the window of my bedroom. The meaning behind this idea is that I am in my own creative reality when designing. To make this poster visually enhancing I’ve added light reflection, I’ve added a blue light reflection on the wall as it is projected from the outer space in which we could also see a blue light projected from the planet earth. The blue light projecting can be seen on the face and arms of self-illustrated me. This being a self-promotional poster, it would make sense to include some text portraying my identity therefore I’ve added my name on the wall just above the window, to make it visually impressive I’ve made it glow in blue colour to match the overall light reflection of this design. I’ve also included some shadows in the edges of the poster which makes the name text glow even more.
This is my second self-promotional poster, for this poster I have linked graphic design with sport which is something I am passionate for as I aspire to become a graphic designer in the sports industry specifically football. Therefore I’ve decided to illustrate myself controlling a football on my head which links to being a graphic designer in a sense of expressing myself and being creative. As you can see I’ve included an illustration of the photoshop logo which is portrayed behind the illustration of myself, I’ve portrayed the photoshop logo in the middle of the poster and added some blue light projecting from it which makes the logo glow as the overall background is black. I’ve included the photoshop logo to specify it’s importance to me as a graphic designer, as this is my favourite software to use and which I am the most comfortable with for designing. Finally, I have added some text. I’ve presented my full name at the top in blue to match the photoshop logo and the light projecting from it. I’ve also made the text 3D as it makes my name stand out and look inspiring. I’ve also added some text at the bottom briefly explaining as to what I aspire to be.
